Format checks only
The BIC/SWIFT and IFSC tools check visible length, character and country rules. The IBAN tool also applies the registered national length and MOD-97 checksum. These checks can find many typing and structural errors. They do not query a bank or payment network and do not establish that a code is active, reachable or appropriate for a specific transaction.
Directory limits
The SWIFT/BIC directory and RBI-derived IFSC branch database are reference datasets, not official real-time operational directories. Institutions, names, branches and routing arrangements can change. No directory or database entry should be used as the sole source for a payment instruction.
AI Assistant limits
AI Assistant answers are informational only. They may be incomplete, outdated or wrong even when the prompt contains locally validated facts. The assistant is not financial advice and cannot confirm an account, beneficiary, payment route, compliance status or transfer safety. Never use an AI-generated code or routing detail; verify every detail with your bank.
Verify before transferring
Verify codes with your bank before transferring money. Confirm the beneficiary, account identifier, bank or branch identifier, amount, currency and payment reference through trusted channels. Be especially careful when instructions arrive unexpectedly or change by email. A mathematically valid IBAN or structurally valid BIC can still direct money to the wrong destination.
